FSU-Ringling Museum of Art - Asolo Visitor Center

06/29/2006

After years in storage this gem of a theater sparkles again. Willis A. Smith Construction, Inc. has been the Construction Manager for numerous high-profile projects over this years but this one has received an overwhelming and heartfelt response from the Sarasota community. It has been our privilege to construct the new Visitor Pavilion which houses the newly restored 15th century Asolo Theater. The facility includes a gift shop, ticketing services and a café/dining area with a prep-kitchen. A reception area for children, a storage and staging area with loading and receiving areas are also included. Within the structure lies the lovingly restored Asolo Theater. This small, exquisite structure has been fully restored using the talents of conservator Michelle Scalera and the master gilders David Piurek and Shay Sampson. Their efforts have brought about this glowing result. The theater is once again worthy of royalty.
