Gasparilla Island Toll Plaza

This project consisted of two separate buildings; a new toll plaza building, including a truck scale, traffic attenuators, computerized toll equipment, and special aluminum doors. Each tollbooth is air conditioned separately. The Generator Building is a two-story building designed to keep the generator up above the storm surge. It is built of frangible construction, which allows for the walls to blowout during a storm surge while the main structure stays intact. Exterior siding is Hardy Plank, a concrete based material board and the roofing is Butler Manufacturing’s Genesis Standing Seam Roof Panel.
