SBSC - Booker High School Rebuild

The Booker High School rebuild project involved the construction of five new buildings totaling 196,247 SF and the renovation of five existing buildings totaling 103,617 SF.  Booker High School is a Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) magnet school with an enrollment of 1,100 students.

The Vertical Phase of construction included five new buildings. The two story CTE (Career and Technical Education) classroom building provides educational space to focus on engineering, science, mathematics, history of the arts and hospitality services.  The singe story VPA classroom building provides student space for band, orchestra, CCTV, digital and motion design, and dance. Three other new buildings were constructed to house the dining services, administration department, and the central energy plant. Three of the new buildings (CTE, Dining, CEP) are EHPA (Enhanced Hurricane Protection Area) buildings and in the event of a hurricane will be used a community shelter.
