SDMC-Samoset Elementary Replacement School

Phase I. consisted of the construction of the new 57,000 SF school behind the existing campus with construction traffic and deliveries scheduled around school activities. The new building was completed prior to the start of fall classes. Phase II. began with the existing campus being demolished and converted into playing fields, parking, playgrounds & storm water retention.

Willis A. Smith Construction, Inc. was nominated by Samoset Elementary Accelerated School for Manatee Chamber of Commerce Business Partners in Education Special One-Time Project Award. This award is given to a partner that gives a one-time, focused effort that displays creativity, teamwork and resource utilization. The company helped to secure the donation of more that $13,000 worth of supplies and materials to enhance the “around-the-world” theme of interior design at Samoset. David E. Sessions, President also worked to involve other local businesses and organized more than 500 volunteer hours.
